Interest rates to increase effective January 1, 2006
Core to the ministry of the Brotherhood Loan Fund are the investors who buy the debt securities offered to fund the loans made to churches, pastors and church organizations. Seeking to provide a fair rate of return to these investors the Board of Directors at it's November meeting authorized rate increases for an average of approximately one percent (1%). To support this increase the board also increased the rates applied to the outstanding loans by approximately one percent (1%). Board of Directors reduce expense fees for donor advised Gift Deposit accounts
In an effort to provide greater value to donors, the expense fees applied to Gift Deposit accounts are being reduced effective July 1, 2005. To view the new investment options and fee schedule, please click here.

In addition to the current total market funds now available new funds are being added that attempt to limit investment in companies that operate in ways conflicting with our core values. Even though the process is not perfect this is a valid attempt to be true to our beliefs and work to the good of society and the global environment. BICF Trust Fund automates trading process
Effective January 1, 2005 the Foundation staff began using a software interface known as TrustConnect with Federated Clearing Services to process trades with mutual fund companies. The Foundation invests the funds held for Brethren in Christ churches and organizations and funds donated by individuals to fund charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities and donor advised accounts. This automated process provides the staff the ability to manage the additional trades necessary to give more options to investors and donors. The new investment options will be available in the second quarter of 2005.
